Photo 48 of 356 of the 2015 Collection

Randomly chosen by Kirstin Garland from my Blue collection.
Drool, this Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing should be in my garage, what is not to like about it?
Why does it HAVE TO sit in a museum? Why?
It is part of the Franschhoek Motor Museum’s collection.

Photo 46 of 356 of the 2015 Collection

Randomly chosen by editor extraordinaire Axel Bührmann from my Blue collection.
Short of telling you it was manufactured in the United States of America and it was shot in the Franschhoek Motor Museum, I can’t say much.
Except, I would not mind driving around with it on a leisurely Sunday by the beach…

Photo 43 of 356 of the 2015 Collection

Randomly chosen by fellow photography enthusiast Cliff Featherstone from my Blue collection.
Yet another hangar at the Franschhoek Motor Museum, each time I look at these photos I get nostalgic.
Then again it might just be the music.

Photo 24 of 356 of the 2015 Collection

Randomly chosen by a great travel photographer Bianca Preusker from my Blue collection.
Shameless plug: Bianca also works as a tourist guide and can often be seen gallivanting with Cape Town Photo Tours around the Mother City, not only is she not half bad with a camera but she ain’t half bad as a guide either. If you are in Cape Town and wanting to do some alternative touring with a guide, she is your gal. They will even loan you a camera should you fail to have one with you (true story).
Disclaimer: I have no ties with Cape Town Photo Tours except that Bianca took Geraldine and I for a great day out.

This photo however was not shot on that day and is yet another part of the Franschhoek Motor Museum’s collection, would not mind the 3rd one on the right.

Photo 17 of 356 of the 2015 Collection

Randomly chosen by my good friend and Cape Townian connection Martin Immelman from my Blue collection.
The Franschhoek Motor Museum has 6 halls full of cars old and new but this collection of Ferraris is impressive, simply because they all red, they also span a few decades.

I like old cars, it reminds me of an area of respect and quality.
An era when life was simpler.
An era when social media and the internet did not exist.
    An era without computers.
Though I am a software architect, thus a technologist, and did not live in any of these eras for long, it has a certain appeal. Particularly on a day like today.

Some vehicle just inspire, the s-type is such a car, I’d love to drive one for a day.
Imagine, living it in the late 1920’s for a day, the sensation, the feeling, the exhilaration.
Something that is maybe worth putting on my bucket list “Living it like it’s the 1920’s”, just for a day.
A short note on post-proceeding, I am finding that I do more round trips to Photoshop nowadays, I like layers, strange.
